Flip-flop. Flip-flop. Flip-flop. Johnathan's sandals spoke as he trotted back to the group; after hearing what Istvan's assistant had to say, along with the Admi- Evey's introduction, he made off from the group and went straight to the boardwalk. By the time he got back, he was dragging along a cooler full of various drinks, a beach umbrella and a comfy folding chair to sit in. And the sunglasses. When Johnathan set up and sat down with a can of soda, he watched it all unfold, starting with Evey cannon-balling into the water.
Truth be told, Johnathan hadn't learned how to swim. Sitting back and watching the ladies however, suited him just fine.
Sunny, with a chance of Heartache.
Re: Sunny, with a chance of Heartache.
Emma was taken aback by the sudden appearance of one of the red squadron men showing up to her, asking her if she was fine. "Yeah, I'm fine. this place is really nice, it's just... I've never been to a beach before, I'm not sure of what to do." the seventeen year old pilot answered, playing with a lock of hair hanging down the side of her face. "I mean, I can see what everyone else is doing, but, do they really know what they're doing?" Obviously, Emma hadn't exactly learned how to just let herself go and have fun, either. Having grown up on the run on an occupied planet had had that effect on her, and she'd only been out in the relative safety of the Terran republic and its military for a couple of years, and most of that was filled with military conduct, and proper etiquette, not rushing to the beach and acting like a child.
Not that Emma knew what it was like to act like a child, either.

Re: Sunny, with a chance of Heartache.
Elfriede's head surged up out of the water, a red, steaming expression of anger thrown across her face as she started spouting every curse-word she knew in German. When her tirade of curses ended, she finally looked over at what small thing was grabbing her strong bicep. The woman blinked a few times, before looking Arcadia up and down. "Oh. Hallo there." said Elfriede, before turning herself in the water for a handshake, "I uh... I didn't see you there. Elfriede Tellershmidt, Teal-3. You're... ah... Green Squadron, right? It's a pleasure."
Betty on the other hand didn't know what to think. One moment she was in the air, the next, she had landed into the arms of Green Squadron's ace commander. It was a strange moment, she had curled up instictively into his arms to try and keep herself from going elsewhere, and was able to get a look at his face one moment before the water enveloped them. Then, Betty found herself loose of the commander's arms, and found her footing on the lightly decorated sea-floor, her toes digging in around a shell or two. She grabbed Steven's arm and started to pull him up, look a little red in the face. "Hey! Are you okay? I didn't mean to fly into you there." said Betty, despite not being the one who had controlled her trajectory.
"Hetzer?" asked Miyuki as she trotted over to Hetzer, who had taken to sitting in the sand as he watched everyone else.
"Hm?" went Hetzer looking at the shortest member of the Squadron, standing next to her was Allison, who seemed to look out to the water every few seconds.
"How come you're not going into the water?" the next question from the Japanese girl, "I thought you liked to swim!"
"Oh? Don't worry about me, Miyuki. You go have fun." smiled Hetzer, waving his hand off towards the waters.
"Are you having fun?" asked Allison, finally finding the focus to look at Hetzer.
"Why wouldn't I be? We're at the beach!" he replied, not sure where they seemed to be going with it.
"Well, you've always had a bad habit of isolating yourself, and it usually takes Betty to bring you into the group." said Miyuki, a little more concerned.
"Miyuki, Allison!" laughed Hetzer in disbelief, "I'm fine! You two go enjoy yourselves and quit worrying about me." Miyuki, Teal-5; and Allison, Teal-4; looked at one another before giving him one last question.
"You want us to throw you into the water?" as Miyuki with a grin.
"You're going to need Elfriede for that, and I doubt she's going to be cooperative with the two of you until she gets you back." reasoned the rather cool-minded pilot.
"Oh, alright... Just let us know if you wanna!" said Allison as she and Miyuki dashed off for the water.
The bearded pilot, Teal-2 by order of Fodier, sighed, "I will."

Re: Sunny, with a chance of Heartache.
Fred resurfaced with all the appearance and malice of a hunting crocodile. The instant his face came above the surface, the large Irishman dug his foot into the silt and sand and launched himself at Ruze and cutting the distance between them. He then lashed out with his still submerged arm and clasped a large hand around the Red pilot’s ankle. He then pulled the leg out from under his opponent, clasped his other hand under the smaller man’s armpit, stood up to his full height of six feet and four inches, and hoisted the other above his head.
“An’ this is one fur me!†Fred called as he threw the man though the air into deeper water.
“Ah, don’t mention it,†Steven said as he accepted the help up. He then clasped his hands behind his back and stretched, resulting in several audible cracks. “Everyone is just excited and having fun. Well, I think fun is the word for it.†He trailed off on the last part as he finally saw the duel going on between Fred and Ruze. “Anyway, you’re alright, right?â€

Even though he saw it coming, there was simply nothing Ruze could do. His hands scrabbled for a grip on Fred, but slipped easily. Rather than continue a futile struggle, Ruze turned his defeat into a graceful thing, straightening out and submerging with a smooth dive. He cut up and broke the surface mere moments later, turning to face his opponent with a smile as always. "There's no way you're just a Pilot," he observed, taking his stance again as he slowly circled toward shallower waters. "And I think the scars are proof enough of that. How long were you a Marine?"
Arcadia Langdon took a step back and smiled something so fierce it was almost a laugh. When the German Pilot finally turned to her, it subsided to something natural and friendly. "Arcadia Langdon, Green-3. Didn't sound like a very friendly exchange you just had." It was clear by her tone of voice she was only jesting.

"Yeah I'm fine," Betty giggled, punching Steven lightly on the arm before interlocking her finger behind her back as she spokes, "thanks to the big strong guy that caught me, of course." She was smiling, if not playfully, she leaned forward towards him, enunciating her features a little more. "I'm Betty, what's you're name?"
"Argh! Always with the antics, those two! Allison and Miyuki!" growled Elfriede, staring off in the direction of the two women who were giving her a wide berth. The large german woman gave a heavy sigh, before letting her eyes drift off to the mass of men gathering and brawling in the water. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Frau Langdon. Even if it was at high-velocity." A finger extended up to her bikini, pulling the garment forward. Apparently, there was something in there from her fall, as she pulled out a small clam shell. She growled at it for a second before tossing it of and letting the red fabric slap back in place. With her non-chalant behavior about that, it was evident she wasn't too reserved. "So, since the men are fighting..." she looked down at Arcadia, wondering if she'd go for it, "Should we fight too? It seems like they're having fun."

Arcadia chuckled both at how calmly Elfriede fixed her swimsuit and also at her suggestion. "Oh, well... I don't really wrestle." She flexed one arm, and while it wasn't smooth, there was nothing there to impress anyone either. "As you can see, I'm not exactly a sturdy character. However, I wouldn't mind helping you find a little revenge against a couple mischievous ladies." A smile appeared that was just as devilish as her tone.
Re: Sunny, with a chance of Heartache.
Fred grinned at Ruze. “Well, yur perceptive aren’t’cha?†he said as he widened the smile further. He then brought his left hand up and tapped the tattoo on his right pectoral that read, SS197.
“I spent four years in Shock Squad One-Ninety-Seven, frontline division as a close-quarters-combat specialist. Lieutenant Fredrick Eoghan Haverthorn, at chyur service,†Fred said in a proud tone. “Ninety-three confirmed career kills; twenty-five of them without firearms, and seven of those without anythin’ but ma bare hands. Oh, then thar was this one time I took a lizzie out with a spork from the mess hall. That one was fun.â€
Steven scratched his head and blushed slightly at Betty’s display. He was unsure of how to proceed from there. He looked away momentarily and caught sight of Arcadia. Clearing his throat he looked back at Betty. “Have to admit, these are some odd circumstances to meet under, but pleased to meet ya Betty. My name is Steven Kerning.†Once again, Steven was unsure of how to proceed as he felt an awkward silence set in. Having never actually been to a beach before, he did not know what there was to do aside from the dunk fight Fred had started.

The FNG took it easy, and smiled through his sunglasses as he overheard Arcadia and Elfriede suggest wrestling, and then more antics. A lazy eye drifted over to Steven as he talked to Betty, blushing furiously. Johnathan's smile got all the wider; it was good to see his new leader start on his long journey to recovery. And Fred? The man was like an Irish Shark. If those existed; no way in hell he was going to loose wrestling match. 'A pity there's no betting going on.' he thought. A hand reached for another bottle of beer and popped off the cap. The smell of barley and hops invaded his nose. Johnathan gave himself a wry smile; if this beer tasted and smelled exactly like the real deal, what else did they have?
A small growl came from his stomach as he thought of the possibilities.

Re: Sunny, with a chance of Heartache.
Betty blinked at the awkward silence. The older man seemed just a bit uncomfortable in how he was in the water. The younger girl couldn't help but be comfortable, especially being originally from California. As a Cali-girl, she couldn't help by love the beach, especially with how her early life was spent around the coasts and it's wonderful sandy hot-spots. Betty brought her hands back, and shoved them forward, splashing Steven with a wave of sea-water. "Steven Kerning? The Steven Kerning? Wow! You're pretty nice for someone who's so well-known." She looked off at the horizon, taking in how the sky met the water, "How about this surf? I haven't been to a beach in ages."
"Hrm..." was the strangely dark response of Elfriede as she stared at Miyuki and Allison who had taken to watching the fight. A sharky grin spread on her face as she looked back down at Arcadia. "Maybe there's something we can do. Yank them under the water? Throw them? No, throwing's been over done. Miyuki is sensitive about her chest and height, we could always bring that up... Allison... Allison can't stand anyone drawing attention to her butt." Elfriede extended the waist band around her bikini, stretching it out with her thumb, run it only the side lengths in thought. "Do you have any ideas?"
Hetzer's nose twitched to the air as he smelled the bitterly delicious smell of an opened beer. The simulation accurately portrayed his senses, and his uncanny ability to find the direction of the nearest open container. The bearded fellow stood, walking over to Johnathan, not even noticing the man until he looked down and saw the bottle.
"Ah. Airman Hetzer Johannes Thalberg, Teal-2 of Teal Squadron." said Hetzer, giving a polite wave, "Are you in the mood to share?"
