Percival Caxton rubbed his face as he made his way around, not quite used to this 'free lunch' they seemed to have at the school. Back at his old school, they all ate in the cafeteria no matter what sort of day it was. This was nice, being allowed to go just about where ever you wanted. The young Caxton made his way outside into the courtyard, spotting his three friends from yesterday sitting together under a tree. He straightened his beret with one hand while holding a bagged lunch with his other hand. He couldn't help but be a little shy from all that happened yesterday, so he walked on over and held up his lunch.

"Hello." said Percival in Japanese, a little hesitant. He shuffled his foot a little bit, "Can I sit with you guys?"

Ruarc was walking in the woods that surrounded his small Irish home. It was a peaceful day and the air smelled clean and fresh as the early morning sun peaked through the emerald green tree tops. For the first time in a long time the Druid felt at peace as the carpet of soggy, dead leaves compressed gently beneath his feet. He couldn’t remember exactly how he had gotten here, but he knew that if he was back in Ireland that meant the Japan fiasco was over and done with. He breathed deep and gave a happy sigh as he walked on.
Nothing could possible ruin this for me, the young Irishman thought to himself as he looked out through the trees. Out of nowhere however a tree branch swung down and whipped Ruarc right on the tip of his nose. He howled in surprise and pain as he looked around for the cause. Once again a tree branch swung down, but this time the branch grabbed his nose in a sharp and painful pinch.

“Ah! What the hell!” Ruarc shouted in Irish as he woke up from his dream suddenly and sat up. Still in a daze however, he hit his head on the underside of the bridge. His nose still hurt, and when he looked down he saw Laoise biting the bridge of his nose in her beak. Swatting the bird away he grabbed his nose.

“What the hell Laoise?!” Ruarc shouted at his familiar.
”Were you planning on going to school today? Or were you just going to keep drooling?” Laoise said to the Keeper.
“What?” he asked as he slid down the hill he was sleeping on. He looked up at the sun to get an idea of the time. “I’m late!”

”I thought Druids were supposed to be mystics of amazing abilities and regal disposition,” Laoise thought to herself as sat on one of the bridge supports as she watch the Druid scramble about trying to get ready. Whimsically she began chirping, as if giving a melancholic soundtrack to the Keeper as he fell over pulling his pants up.

After a few minutes of panic, Ruarc finally got all of his stuff together and hoisted his backpack onto his shoulder before making his way out from under the small bridge by the river. Once on the road he began sprinting off to school as Laoise took off flying a good distance above him.

Time passed as Ruarc sprinted down the busy noon-time streets and finally arrived at the school. He sprinted full speed to the finish and arrived triumphantly in the front courtyard of the school. As he trundled to a stop he looked up at the big clock on the front of the building. It was lunchtime. Despite breathing heavily his face contorted into a pained grin as he began to either chuckle or cry, he didn’t know which and people looking at him likely wouldn’t either.

”I got here in time to sit and do nothing,” he thought. Dejectedly, he stood up and began to walk around the courtyard to relax.

"Sure, sure." Hisoka answered, not looking up from his project, while the girls took a short look at Percy, waving at him in a somewhat friendly manner.
"We don't mind." Miyuki muttered between bites of her bento, apparently undisturbed by Percy's presence.
"What's with the glum look?" Hana asked, blinking at the Boy's shyness (being quite the hypocrite, but she was comfortable at the moment so it didn't matter). Hana pointed to an open section of bench next to the busy Hisoka, showing Percy that there was room for him to sit. The trio already there, however, seemed content to be mostly quiet for the moment, but as soon as percy would sit down the girls would begin discussing how annoying some of the teachers here were, and gossiping about them, as well.

******

As Ruarc made his way into the schoolyard, odd grin on his face, something occurred that would force his relaxation to wait. Three underclassmen arrived, one unremarkable in every respect, one immensely short, and another holding herself very regally. The regal-looking one seemed to be the head of the group, and they stopped Ruarc's progress, grinning.

"So, Mister Ireland" The regal girl began "it seems that you are too big to come to school on time." The grin remained on her face, and the two girls behind her giggled at the joke she had made. "Perhaps you need a better alarm clock than that white bird that follows you everywhere." she continued, pointing up at the barely-visible laiose in the sky.

Percival nodded, going to answer Hana's question when he sat, but he found that she got easily wrapped up in conversation with Miyuki just as fast. He gave Miyuki a very long look, eying the gem that hung around her neck as always, before turning his gaze back out towards the yard. The young man looked down at his lunch, crinkling the brown bag with his thumbs. It was hard to talk to them especially since he felt no real subject arise. So, he reached into his lunch bag, and pulled out a ham sandwich he had prepared that morning by himself. He took a bite into it, before casting another side-long glance at Miyuki's amulet. He blinked once or twice before looking back out at the nature around them.

"Takahashi." said Percival, pressing what was in his mouth into his cheek. "Have you ever been in love?"

The Welshman then continued with his sandwich.

“Mister Ireland?” Ruarc repeated to himself as his walk was interrupted. He stopped in mid-stride and gave the girls an odd look. Looking over the group with a raised eyebrow, the Irishman debated whether or not to just turn around and walk the other way. To top it all off, the pompous looking girl was apparently aware of Laoise. Now, he could easily call her crazy and blow her off, but Ruarc was bored and filled with just a smidge of contempt; so he figured he might as well humor them with a response.

“Well, arn’t ye pairceptive. No’ even in me class an’ yer noticin’ when ahm late. Tha’, or ye saw me runnin’ ‘ere,” Ruarc said in Japanese as he stood up straight at his full height of six feet and three inches. He took a step closer to the pompous girl and looked down at her. “Ahm also impressed tha’ ya noticed ma bird. Now, I appreciate yur concern abou’ ma schoolin’, an’ if ye don’ mind Ah am gonna be on ma way.” With that Ruarc tapped the top of his head as a gesture of a conversation’s end before making a move to get around the girl.

Hisoka, at the question, continued working, though, he seemed to be thinking. The girls had gone silent, and Hana was staring at Hisoka, while Miyuki was glaring at Percy. The young Japanese man flipped a few pages, and wrote down a couple of notes before he spoke. "Once, I was in what I thought was love. But I was only eight, and it was meaningless. Love can wait until I am successful." he answered, concisely, before continuing on his work, unperturbed.

Hana was practically beaming at the intelligence of Hisoka, even if it meant she'd have to wait. She was fine with waiting. Perhaps she would be successful by then, too.

Miyuki didn't seem to care about the answer, still astonished at the sudden question.

******
"Hey, Rai-Hime, What'd he say?" the short girl asked, bouncing in place as Ruarc turned to leave.
"Don't worry about it, Kiki" 'Rai-hime' assuaged, turning to follow Ruarc. The other two girls fell in behind her. "I live near the bridge you've taken residence under, Mister Ireland." 'Rai-hime' announced, continuing to follow the tall man as he walked. "I know you've been there several days, and i've seen you in the park before." she continued to explain, before moving in front of Ruarc again and stopping his progress once more. "My name is Kokoro Raiko, but you may refer to me as Rai-Hime." Raiko introduced, holding out her hand for a handshake, feet planted in a stance that showed she was ready for anything Ruarc might try.

Kiki and the other girl, Ginga, stood by, watching their leader deal with the strange foreign student, with a small amount of wonder.

Ruarc left out a sigh of marginal annoyance and scratched the back of his head as the girl once again impeded his progress. He cocked an eyebrow as she stuck her hand out to him. “Uh, right. If we are talkin’ about names, mine is Ruarc, not ‘Mister Ireland’,” he said with emphasis on the last part. With a weary look, he reached out and completed the handshake. It was prompt, purposeful, and quick.
“Now, will tha’ be all lass, or can Ah be on me way?” Ruarc said very straightforwardly, but taking time to purposefully say ‘lass’ rather than the ‘hime’ bit.

"Hm." chuckled Percy a little bit, swallowing some of his sandwich, but never taking his eyes off of it to look at Hisoka or realize the glare he was getting from Miyuki. He seemed rather thoughtful in that moment. He kicked his feet out, heels resting on the ground, the tips of his feet swaying side to side. The young man seemed a little detached, just like Hisoka was, but not in the exact same way. Hisoka's answer had bothered him a bit. "You're right... Something without meaning is without reason..." went Percy, seemingly trying to clarify. He blinked once or twice, before looking back at Hisoka again. "Maybe you really have never felt it, if you're going to do that. Put it off, I mean."

He bit his sandwich, and gave a somber look to his sandwich, "I know I'd never do that."

"I suppose that is everyone's choice." Hisoka answered civilly. "I hear some people need it earlier than others," he finished, continuing his work. there was no sound for a while except that of the two girls and Percy quietly eating, and the scratch of Hisoka's pencil over the paper, before Miyuki turned away from the conversation and began to speak about the principal. Percy would learn, if he listened, that the Principal was Miyuki's older brother, and had decided to come home for dinner the previous night, which, apparently, had thoroughly embarrassed Miyuki.

"Oh, no. I won't let you off that easily, Mister Ireland." Raiko answered Ruarc, not bothering to say his name as he had not bothered to say hers. "I am rather well in with most of the teachers, so, Unless you agree to something, I might just let slip what's going on with you." the dark-haired girl explained, grinning. Her entourage looked at one another, confused by what was going on. "As the princess of this school," she began, "I cannot have my subjects being homeless vagrants. Even if you can look the part of a normal man, you still smell of canal water, and it's very obvious you're malnourished." Raiko paused here, as if waiting for Ruarc to respond. Apparently, she wanted Ruarc to figure out on his own what she was insinuating.

Hisoka was a fool, thought Percy, but in his own right, he was correct. It was everyone's choice to put it off until an inexplicable date, or until they saw it fit. He almost wanted to turn it into a debate until he realized that it may have not been a popular subject with the way Miyuki had been looking at him. These people were unusual, but then again, he was a foreigner in a foreign country, and that had to be thought about as well. At any rate, he sat quietly, and listened to the things around him, particularly about the Principal being Principal Kagami. The Caxton boy looked over, leaning forward to eye Miyuki with a cursory glance.

"Is that why we didn't get in trouble for yesterday?" asked Percival, shelving less socially appropriate questions to the back of his mind. "I guess that would explain why it was only the Nurse that called my parents..."
