Adrian blinked as the first members of the attack force made their way into position - half of them choosing to completely abandon any kind of sense in the process. The even crazier thing was that the sniper himself had to wrestle down his very own bout of insanity as not only one, but two people managed to successfully - albeit two very different degrees of "successful" - jump to the target.
Quickly lining up his shot Adrian's harpoon darted towards and into the exact spot a certain lightly armoured squadmate of his had chosen. The marine had a glowing smirk on his face as he let his weapon pull him across the gap. Landing heavily just behind Cibo, Adrian stepped forward a few times before gently patted his rifle against the other soldier's shoulder - it probably wasn't the best idea seeing how charged up she was, but hell, everyone seemed to be a bit crazy today.
"Just keeping you safe Malinowski - you know how us sniper types are suckers for clear and concise orders." Pulling his rifle back and positioning himself a few feet to Cibo's right Adrian reported that he was in position.
"Nice spot for the harpoons by the way." The sniper remarked off-handedly to Cibo as he settled himself in. Damn nice, Adrian thought as he looked back at the crevice. I could of sworn I was the only one to spot it too, but then again, you got to face the facts Adrian. You got here second. She got here first. Nothing more clear and concise than that.
[Episode One] Gateway of Hopes
Re: [Episode One] Gateway of Hopes
Kai touched down just ahead of anyone else from their group, but he seemed to be taking his time to gain his bearings. His arm raised in front of him, the Sergeant tapped a few buttons on his forearm, and scanned about the surface of the station. When Hendlow asked him "Where?", Kai was ready. "About a meter to your right, you've got about half a meter to get through, two layers of plating, some wires, and then the interior paneling, but that's the thinnest spot around."

Before she jumped, Destiny placed the faceplate of her helmet into the palm of her gauntleted hand, and shook it slightly. "Indescribable morons, both of them" she muttered, before launching her own harpoon, and reeling into the station with the last few soldiers. Almost immediately after Destiny was off, the ship began moving away, the hangar disappeared, and the strange looking square that had been the only indication of the Iroquois existing was snuffed out, the stealth ship retreating back toward the Hymn.

Garrett glanced "up" as their deliverer made its retreat. It was an attractive sight from a military perspective. His focus was regained at the sound of Kai's voice. "Sir." He moved into position, planted the explosive, and gave it some space. "Alright boys, prepare for Operation: Wham, Bam, Thank-You Ma'am."
Without further ado, he detonated the charge, cracking through the plating. A mesh of wiring and circuitry popped through the orifice, looking to Sergeant Hendlow what he could only imagine Cibo's fantasies must be like, as fucked up as she was. That wasn't important though; what WAS important was that they had hit the interior atmosphere and the Universe's vacuum, a greedy and apathetic creature, was still doing its thing.
To his squad, he announced, "We're moving right after Nakamura's team, so pay attention. Asher, you're on point like always."

A short, "Hehe." could be heard over the marine's chatter. "Thanks." Cibo replied to the marine. "But, do you know just how important that thermal crack is? It isn't just any little detail you know." she crowed, hinting at something bigger. "Can you guess? I'll tell you!" the Intelligence agent's voice went on, fading into an excited whisper over the tight beam comms. "They're not taking good care of this baby, after all, that crack was quite against our regulations; if we were still taking care of it, it'd never have gotten large enough for so many of our harpoons to latch into. We'll teach them a lesson about abusing our stuff!" she went on, gesturing wildly with her free hand.
As the marines filed through the hull breach against the torrent of wind rushing out of the station, Cibo followed suit after them when it was her turn. "I really hope we can still catch them napping!" she commented with ecstatic glee.

"Oh, I gotcha boss!" said Asher, slipping into the breach his rifle pointed forward, as his other arm guided him in. He still felt rather pained on his front side, what with the impact he had just experienced, but it was quickly replaced by the excitement of the mission at hand. Heading into the unknown wasn't too unusual for him, which was likely why Garrett always named him the point-man for these missions. Indeed, the Surandanian was rather fearless, but he wasn't as stupid as most people(and he himself) made him out to be. He carefully scanned the area ahead, and guided himself into the Zero-G room, carefully looking around, left and right, before securing both hands on his weapons and taking a few magnetized steps around. "Heh heh, about as empty as Cibo's soul, boss."
Re: [Episode One] Gateway of Hopes
"Aww, come on!" Cibo whined. "Don't be so pessimistic and say something's empty, Asher." The Intelligence Agent replied to him. Her mouth motored on as she came in behind the marines, rifle at the ready and aimed into the foreboding interior of the gate. "You should say how full something is instead, it's much better for morale. Hm. Let me think for a bit..." she went on, stowing the rifle and pulling out a small device. Cibo was doing one of her jobs; trying to passively intercept any Drathonian transmissions and crack them, but that didn't stop her from talking. "I say - " she paused, punching in a few commands, " - that this place is as full as a room that Asher's walked into."
"Which is not at all!" she whispered in a not very quiet manner.

Asher stopped, looking over his shoulder in the direction of the Intelligence Officer, his polarized visor reflecting off the light coming in. He went around, checking for the more minor details, damage, any signs of personnel. "Y'know kinda' odd sayin' somethin's got somethin' when it doesn' got nothin'. Like sayin' my empty cup a'water iss' full a'wata', but not really, or dis' station iss' full a'terrans, but not really." The Surandanian looked back at the rest of his squad, and then at Cibo, helmet bobbing in a chuckle. "Heh heh heh, does 'dat mean ya full a'crap?"
Re: [Episode One] Gateway of Hopes
As soon as everyone was inside, Kai pulled two small spheres from a pouch on his armor, and simply released them into the airstream headed out of the Fold Gate. once they reached the damage section, they exploded into a taffy-like substance that stretched out over the hole, and expanded quite a bit, slowing down the flow of air out of the breach, and calming down the gusts. He motioned for Hendlow to do likewise, as air in space was a precious commodity, and they had wasted enough.
"Alright, move out, and cut the chatter, this is where my team and Hendlow's split. We're moving down that hallway to the left before heading toward the control center. Be ready for resistance, but intelligence tells us this place isn't heavily guarded- it's been locked out from their use so they've only left a small garrison, being unable to use the thing." The blonde instructed, before pointing to Cibo. "You're on point, alright, and no funny business this time, just yell and shoot when you make contact with the enemy."
******
After arriving inside the station, Destiny continued to have a desire to place her face into her palms, but managed to hold back. However, she did feel somewhat strongly about sending Asher up alone- sure he was a good fighter, but he was also reckless and stupid, and needed someone to take care of him. "Sir! Permission to take point with Asher? Someone needs to take care of him after all." she asked Hendlow.

"What?!" growled Asher, upon hearing that, looking on their intended path and muttering, "I don' need no god damn baby-sitta'."

Re: [Episode One] Gateway of Hopes
Now that the teams were splitting and the Marines were in the midst of things, Sergeant Hendlow was back in Commander Mode and dialed up to Fucking Serious. It was evident in his tone and would have been plain as day on his face if it weren't for the visor.
"Soldiers, when a Sergeant gives you an order, you fucking obey- all of you. Critical coms only, got it? We're in the middle of some serious shit, so if you want to win us a war buckle down. Destiny, denied, Asher you're on point. Ruth, you've got rear detail.
"Objective is simple. Nakamura is taking his team around left- we're coming around right. We pincer the control center, I unlock the door," he said this as though it were simple as twisting a key, "And then we do what we came to do: take this Gate back. Now let's move, and this time with feeling."
