Emma was, at first, taken aback by the transition from the real world to this virtual reality world. Unlike a normal one that could only fool some of the senses, this one was able to create an entire other world, with the feelings, thoughts, and emotions that came with it. every single sense was being tricked, or something, and there was absolutely nothing aside from the suit, that made her feel connected to the real world- and even that disappeared. After watching the first three go into their rooms, Emma made her way through the door directly behind her, and was greeted by a similar room. as the door clicked shut and the wall behind her turned into a smooth wall, the walked forward, feeling the snugness of the suit disappear.

While that made Emma a bit embarrassed, she knew nobody could see her, and promptly took a shower before donning a blue bikini, and a matching Sarong, with a cute pair of blue flip-flops. she grabbed a straw hat, and a pair of sunglasses, and then stepped outside, to see Steven a ways away on the curved railing of the wide circular balcony. To her left she spotted a short spiral staircase heading down to the beach.

'Well, that's to be expected of a beta version.' Johnathan thought. The pain was a surprise, something that was likely to be fixed, but the sight and smells were a complete shock. His mouth dropped open slightly before he remembered to keep it closed. Istvan was dead serious about what he said, that was for certain. The pilot marveled at the exquisite detail, even the etching of the doorknob to the pattern on the wall was well done. Johnathan enjoyed the breeze that he felt, after closing the door of course, and took a deep breath. Salt. 'When was I at a beach last?' he asked himself. Of course, he already knew the answer to that one. Without hurry, he then helped himself to some clothing. A Hawaiian shirt with an orange sunset and the big blue sea at the bottom of it was quickly pulled up; it's lovely vista brought a whiff of fond memories to his mind, though, not what one would expect. That went on, along with some swimming trunks; the blue blended into the bottom of the shirt well, and it was like a continuation of the shirt's sea.

He chuckled at that idea, and stepped out into the sands, sandles flip-flopping as he walked.

The faces of Teal squadron were of shock and awe as the world of around the became something real, yet something they desired it to be. Most of the girls huddled around around Hetzer, who as the tallest, could still poke his head up from the group of women clinging to him out of caution. He himself didn't know what to think, in fact, he wasn't too sure if he was thinking. How does one think in a world that manipulated through your thoughts, instead of your body?. he thought, but immediately shoved the thought aside, knowing that it didn't really matter. What did matter is they each had their own individual little rooms to go into and change in. Hetzer put his hands on Miyuki's and Allison's back, ushering them forward gently, to which Betty and Elfriede responded to. Each member of Teal went into their own room, changing out of their uniforms and into something more beach-worthy.

When Hetzer came out, his beard was no longer scruffy, but groomed and magnificent. A hand graced over his shiny bald head, as he adjust the waistband of his trunks. Then, he adjusted the wife-beater of an under-shirt to adjust over his hair, masculine body. Despite his niceties, Hetzer looked like a fairly rugged, and mean-looking individual. He waited rather

Not long after Hetzer, was Betty, trotting out in a blue two-piece with a white shirt going over the top. Her usual pony-tail, secured by clamp normally, was secured by a rubber band. It was now very evident to see that Betty was the most curvy and naturally beautiful out of the group. "Ah! I can't wait to get down on the beach!" said Betty excitedly.

To add to that point, was Miyuki, who came out next. She was wearing a white one-piece, with an orange towel tightly wrapped her waist around to imitate the look of a sarong, or skirt. Her usual hair-clipped hair was down, and covered up by golden-wheat colored sun hat. To complete her playful, young image, she held up an inner-tub at waste level, an excited expression spread over her face. Unlike Betty, Miyuki was rather featureless, looking more like a tall school-girl than a skilled pilot. "You think they'll mind if I use this inner-tube?" thought Miyuki aloud.

After Miyuki, was Allison, wearing a green one-piece with the name TAGGART emblazoned white over her well-rounded posterior. She adjusted her casual jacket, which she was going to use to defend her upper body from the sun's rays. If there was anything that stood out about Allison, it was her defined, pear-shaped body. If any baby had back, it was Allison. "Does this make my butt look too big?" said a self-conscious Allison.

Then, finally came Elfriede, the biggest and baddest woman of Teal. She wore a red two-piece bikini, with a pair of stark white shorts. She had redone her braids after she had gotten out of the shower, and didn't seem to care to much for anyone's opinion of what she wore. Unlike the other three, Elfriede's features were largest, and most defined. Despite her hour-glass shape, the built body under the thin layer of fat made the curves less defined. If one could draw their attention away from her bad eye long enough, they could see at the mid-part of her powerful thighs was an unsightly scar. That scar ran up the length of her body, from her waist, to the base of her chest, from the top of her bosom to the base of the collarbone, and then finally from her jaw-line to the brow above her milky white eye. "Is it just going to be us? Or are we going with the ace squadrons as well?"

“Oi, Steven! Le’s go down to the beach now. Yev nev’r been righ’? If tha’s the case ye got ta do more than just look at it,” Fred called to Steven as he walked out onto his own balcony.
“Alright, gimme a sec,” Steven called back. A few moments later Fred and Steven left from their rooms and entered the main area once more almost in unison. Fred’s entrance was much more jovial and energetic than Steven’s; as the Irishman threw the door open and almost leapt outside. Fred had since taken off his shirt and was now sporting a pair of emerald green trunks with golden shamrocks embroidered on them. Evidence that Fred was once a specialist of Close-Quarters-Combat in the marines became much more obvious and apparent. Fred’s body was muscular and well defined, and most sections of his body carried a fair number of scars ranging in size from a few millimeters to well over seven inches long. The largest scar he carried was a long, thin scar on his back that ran from his right shoulder blade down towards his tailbone where it crossed over the spin.
Steven was much more modest in comparison. Almost a foot shorter and over fifty pounds lighter, Steven fit the bill of a stereotypical fighter pilot. The ace pilot was much more lean and compact with very little body fat which allowed his muscles to be well defined despite his smaller physique. Unlike Fred, Steven had very few scars that he had received from direct combat. The most noticeable of his scars being the system of patchwork scars that ran up his right leg and his left arm as well as along his jawline. Beside those, he had a long scar running across the upper-right portion of his chest from when he and Fred had been shot down over a jungle and a sharp piece of metal had caught him during the fall.
“Alrigh’! Le’s go have some fun. I have been needing an excuse to work on me tan,” called Fred as he bulleted from his room and immediately walked over next to Steven. “Maybe we’ll even get a chance to get friendlier with the ladies, Captain.”
“Ladies? The only ladies here are computerized or our own teammates,” said Steven as he raised his arms in a stretch. “And, if you don’t mind Fred, just stick to calling me Steven. I need a break from the military rank and file. Everyone does. So let’s do this casual.”
With that the two pilots turned to go to the exit where they ran into the pilots of Teal Squadron. Fred gave a whistle of appreciation. “Told ya. Ladies,” Fred whispered to Steven as they drew close. Fred looked over the new pilots and gave a boyish grin. Several attractive women, aside from the aging man who was on par with him for height.
“Teal Squadron,” Steven called as the two Greens got close enough. “Steven Kerning. I guess this will be a good way to thank you guys for your help not too long ago.” He said it with a smile, but bringing up the battle also brought back the more unpleasant memories accompanying it, so he quickly brushed it aside.
“We all need a chance to relax and unwind, so for the duration of this trip how about we forget about protocol and etiquette and just have fun? On that note, I think that monotone man wanted us to meet him outside,” Steven asked in a very casual manner before gesturing to the door. "Shall we then." With that, Steven and Fred strode past Teal and through the door onto the beach and over towards the assistant.
Steven smiled as he felt sand between his toes, the closest he had ever felt to sand was dirt and gravel in a field. He looked around briefly at the scenery and caught sight of the new Green pilot John. "Hey John, we have to meet with the assistant first! Over here!" he called before continuing forward.
"FNG," Fred joked.

The transition was frightening- well, it was more a surprise, but Arcadia was already tense from all the worrying and such-like. Once in the... Pilot Langdon nominated the introductory circular room the foyer. Once there, she was quickly relieved. Salty air? Breaking waves? That was all she could sense just then, but it was all Arcadia needed to put a huge grin on her face. Those two little things, a scent on the air, a gentle and distant sound, they were enough to flood her mind with everything else that came with them: warm sand, warm waters, bright sun, and FUN. Any person that could sit on the beach and mope was no friend of Pilot Arcadia Langdon.

Thinking about this distracted her so well, she hadn't even moved from her "spawn point" until the penultimate door was disappearing. Now free of her reverie, Arcadia rushed into the room- and was surprised to find herself naked even as she recalled the blond fellow's instructions and warnings. She quickly slipped into a swimsuit, but then came the more difficult decisions. At first she was thinking shorts because there were squadmates of hers on that beach, but changed her mind with the following rationale: "Fuck it, I'm going to feel sexy and have some fun."

She finally made her appearance with that huge smile still splayed. Her bikini was black, and did a fair job of pressing her breasts together. Her sarong was transparent and also black. Her only other adornment was a towel thrown over her right shoulder, and most of her shoulder-length hair was gathered back in a small ponytail. When her feet first touched sand, she practically lost it. Everything was so perfect! Arcadia's body was on the verge of exploding, there was so much excited energy coursing through her. All she wanted to do right then was toss the towel and sprint into the waves until she couldn't run any more, and submerge herself, let the water encompass her entirely. Instead, she was supposed to listen to this man who seemed so bored with life, that he himself had become that which he most abhorred.

Her eyes surveyed all the others then, but for once in a long time she didn't feel like she was competing with the other girls in a best body competition. Everything was just too fucking awesome for that nonsense. She also happened to overhear Allison make a general inquiry about her butt. With that grin growing a little larger, Pilot Langdon skipped behind Pilot Taggart and gave her behind a friendly slap. "It's looking good, girly." She proffered a smile to prove her sincerity, then took off to catch up with Steven and Fred.

"Steven! Fred!" she called out, and gave a small wave. If Fred wasn't right there, Pilot Langdon would've had half the mind to tackle the Captain, she was so wound up. Instead, she nearly bounced across the sand to close the distance, not paying the slightest attention to the pair looming in the distance. The beach and her friends were far more interesting.

Allison yelped as her rear was slapped by the excitable woman in black. Her face lit up red as she looked around in embarrassment.

"H-hey! Y-you... You didn't have to slap my butt!" stammered Allison, as the rest of Teal let loose a burst of mirth at her expense, which only made the low-ranking Taggart blush further.

"Oh loosen up, Aly!" laughed Betty also slapping Allison on the rear, "You heard those guys from Green! Loosen up! This is free time!"

"B-B-Betty!" Allison grabbed her bottom again, "Th-tha..."

"Ya! Seriously!" giggled Miyuki also slapping at her comrade. Which caused Allison to jump again, making surge forward a few feet, into Elfriede, who almost tipped over.

"Verdammt!" growled Elfriede, looking down at Allison with a contemptible stare, before slapping Allison on the rear, sending her towards Hetzer. "Watch where you're swinging your huge ass!"

"H-Hetzer! M-m-make them stop!" whined Allison, tears almost drawing from her eyes, her face blistering red in embarrassment. Hetzer smiled, chuckling at the sight. Already, the worries and sadness of minutes ago seemed to wash away in the paradise around them. The girls of Teal were feeling better already, even if it was at Allison's expense.

"Alright, alright, recall that this is supposed to be fun for everyone, not just some of us." said Hetzer, even daring to look at Elfriede straight in the eye as he looked at each of them in sequence.

Emma followed the first group, quietly, wondering at the sudden change of Arcadia's mood and behavior. She hurried, slightly, keeping ahead of the second group consisting of a much slower red squadron, but soon, all the pilots had arrived at the assistant's location. Emma stood, and looked over the assistant- He was dressed oddly for the beach. He wore nicer white t-shirt, a black tie, and a pair of black slacks, with a matching pair of loafers. He wore aviator sunglasses, and had an expression that suggested this was all nothing new to him.

Emma's eyes then moved to the person next to him- it was a little girl, probably six or seven, with straight brown hair, and bright, inquisitive brown eyes. something about her seemed familiar, but, with the young girl wearing a red tube top and a pair of black biking shorts, with a beach ball under one arm, and a white full-brim cap, she just seemed to be another beach resort guest.

And then the assistant spoke up.

"Welcome to the beach. You are the first people, beside Istvan himself, to come here. This place was designed and created as a paradise, and, as you can see, is in all respects an exact replica of one. As far as our senses tell us, it is real. In fact, the simulation is so real it fools purely data-based constructs such as artificial intelligences into believing they are in a physical world. In fact, most of the residents to not realize that this world is not, in fact, real, so please do not mention that to any of the 'locals'."

The assistant looked each of them in turn, though it was hard to tell because his eyes were hidden behind the large shades, and so most would construe it as an awkward pause. He then continued, belatedly introducing himself. "In our hurry to bring you in here, some etiquette was shoved aside. So, I shall introduce myself. My name is Linck M. Alpha, and I specialize in robotics, artificial intelligences, and in neurological research. I have been helping Istvan in his endeavors for the past year, after being recovered from my home planet, and I cannot recall anything prior to that."

He then pointed to the young girl. "Some of you may recognize our other guest. She was the first Artificial Intelligence construct to emerge from EDEN, and is in fact the commanding officer of the Hymn, as well as the ship's Avatar- Evelyn. She may look different to you, so I must explain-" But he was cut off before he could explain. the young girl, grinning broadly, interrupted him.

"In here, I wanna be my chronological age, not my mental age, so, I'm Seven today! I am not the admiral, I am Evey, and I wanna have fun, too!"

With that, she ran forward, throwing her beach ball at Steven, and grabbing Emma, Arcadia, and Miyuki by the wrists, then motioning to the other girls, and dragging them off towards the beach. Linck cleared his throat awkwardly, looking at the men that were left. "You are all free to do as you like, now."

"Wagh! Ha ha ha!" laughed Miyuki as she was physically dragged by the girly form of her ship's commanding officer. She looked back at her three other friends in complete disbelief before pushing her legs to keep up with the pace. Her other hand could barely keep her inner-tube up as her sun-hat flew off into the virtual wind. The rest of Teal, except for Elfriede, took to rushing after the rest, laughing at the sudden turn. Even Allison, who was terribly embarrassed just a moment ago, was jogging happily while tearing off her jacket. Betty threw off her shirt, tossing it into the wind, the garment flying carelessly before gently sailing to the ground. Elfriede didn't take too much into the over excitement. She bent over, wiggling her hips to help slide her short pants down, and then kicked off her shorts before following the rest.

"Well." said Hetzer, watching the whole of the event happen. His hand went up into his magnificent beard, coursing his fingers through it's elegantly combed facial locks. "That was unexpected."

Fred gave Steven an accusing look at Steven when Evelyn was introduced. Steven returned the look and quietly worded, "I “swear to god she wasn’t that young before.”
Steven was brought back to ‘reality’ by the beach ball flying right towards his face. “Uh,” Steven mumbled as he did not know what to do next, so Fred stuck out his arm and swiped the ball out right before it struck Steven.
“Yeah!” Fred shouted in a booming cry that carried a long distance. “To the water men! Muirear!” With that Fred gave Steven a shove in towards the water and the two pilots took off in a dead sprint straight for the water. Along the way Steven flung off his shirt and sandals to match Fred’s appearance. Fred was shouting Irish expletives such as ‘uisce’ and ‘páirtí am’, and Steven followed suit and was whooping and hollering the whole way. In no time the two pilots overcame and passed up Evelyn and the other girls she was dragging behind her.
As the duo approached the water, Fred threw the ball into the air, spun on his heel, grabbed Steven by the arm and back of his trunks, followed through his spin, hoisted Steven into the air, and flung the Captain through the air. “Green Leader comin’ in hot!” Fred shouted with a smile stretching from ear to ear. Steven on the other hand simply yelled bloody murder as he flew out over the water. “OH MY GOD! FRED! WHAT THE FU…” he shouted right up until he splashed down into the water. Fred reached the water a split second after the throw and did a shallow dive into the chilled water.
“Fred! FRED!” Steven shouted as he came to the surface coughing water. “Fred?! Where the hell are you?!” Steven looked around but his wingman was nowhere to be seen. “Fred?”
Then without warning, the large Irishman popped out of the water behind Steven laughing like a madman. “Ah! Fred!” Steven managed to say in the instant before he was tackled back underwater. After a few moments of silence the two pilots resurfaced with Steven coughing and Fred laughing.

Arcadia quite honestly couldn't listen to a word Linck was saying; she only caught the general gist: this place is amazing, it's so real it might as well be, this is the Admiral of the Hymn- the last of which was something that didn't really register immediately with the Pilot. No, she was immediately distracted. The girl was adorable, and in her current state Miss Langdon was feeling quite playful. Even so, her eyes went wide when Evey managed to snag three girls by the wrists and drag them off to the beach. Arcadia was running in stride soon enough, tugging off her sarong with her free hand and shrugging away the towel. Then, and without missing a step, she scooped the miniature Evelyn into her arms. The pair romped into the ocean, Arcadia eventually turning her back to the horizon and dropping into a sit; the water there rose to her chest. She was laughing softly, and how could she not?

They were outside, free of the metal confines of their home-ship, partaking in the wonders of planetside activities, soaking up the sun, and playing nice with naturally occurring gravity. Fred and Steven were being boys as boys could only be around their friends, the girls of Teal were starting to warm up to her, child-sized Evelyn was as intent as living this up as she was, and by god everything was PERFECT. Forget Scimitars and Scourges, forget the Hymn, screw snooty officers and crappy cooking-- no, no fuck SPACE. Langdon hadn't realized how much she missed real worlds with their natural warmth, their soft contours, their... their life. Everything was better planetside, she now remembered- remembered why she was fighting in the first place. As the laughter subsided, it was replaced a simple and loving smile. This was fantastic, indescribably awesome, and she'd been on the beach no more than five minutes. Time to enjoy it!

Pilot Langdon rose to her feet after some time. "Alright Evey, name's Arcadia. What say you show everyone how great a diver you are?" She was wading out deeper, not stopping until the waves were brushing her bikini top. "Alright, just stand on my hands and I'm going to throw you out as far as I can. Got it?" Her hands were laced just a short distance beneath the water's surface, and Arcadia had lowered herself into a crouch so that the waves licked at her chin. "You give the count." Not once had the idea crossed her mind that maybe Evey had no desire to go hurtling through the air- what child would have refused such an offer?
